FW 2023: The Ecstasy of Saint Minato

The title was born from the seduction and charm I've experienced in the past few months since moving to ltaly. From North to South I've taken in cultural nuances, as well as links between my Armenian heritage and this country. ltalian icons such as the lion of the San Marco Piazza, saints & martyrs of the past, and artisnal hands with storied histories tell their tales in this new collection. You will see a zig-zag pattern throughout the collection; in leather, in corduroy, and knits alike. The double entendre meanings eluding to the past and the present. The lines are drawn from the Artsakh flag as a respectful nod to the ever evolving conflicts between the Republic of Artsakh and Azerbaijan.

There is a continued exploration of tailoring and new shifts to couture techniques. Furs, lambskin, and wools are sewn together with the finesse of ltalian tailors and sarta' s. Coats are expertly cut and finished in Tuscany. The A-line silhouette is the basis of nearly every look. Powerful and unwavering, it gives way to a woman who is not for the faint of heart. Embroidery gets more dimensional and experimental this season. The winged lion of St. Marco's Piazza is perched in a flurry of chiffon, regal and stoic. Wool and mohair are linked to create new kinds of rugs, ones that you can wear. They beckon to ancient deities of Armenia's past, where mercy did not comes so easily.
